ABOUT THIS APP
Read change with confidence.
Trend Tracker is an offline-first data literacy game for recognising 14 time-series patterns across 100 challenges, learning to distinguish signal from noise, and making careful observations from data.
How to play
Inspect the chart, time axis and business context.
Choose the trend pattern that best fits the full series.
Review the feedback and explanation after answering.
Use Challenges to review completed items and Trend Library to compare examples.
What you will learn
Recognise upward and downward trends, stable periods, fluctuating and changing rates, seasonality, longer cycles, repeated daily or weekly patterns, structural shifts, random variation, changing variability and outliers.
Practise comparing the full series, checking the time scale, noticing unusual points, and using context before drawing a conclusion.

App information
Trend Tracker runs in a modern desktop or mobile browser and does not need internet access for game logic. Charts use illustrative synthetic data, not operational business data.
Progress and preferences are stored locally in the browser. Local data is not encrypted and may be cleared. Persistence can vary when opening a standalone HTML file directly. Export backups regularly and keep a separate copy.

Choose Light, Dark or High contrast. Pick an accent colour and adjust text size for readability.
Privacy and backups
Game logic runs locally without AI, analytics or external data calls. Progress is stored in browser storage and is not encrypted. Browser data can be cleared, and storage persistence may vary when the standalone file is opened directly.
Export a JSON backup regularly and keep a separate copy. Restore validates the file and asks before replacing current progress.
Reset all challenges
This clears the current challenge position, scores, streaks, answer counts and attempt history. Your theme, accent colour and text size will be kept. Export a backup first if you may need your progress later.
